(Rosemont, IL…June 6, 2016) - TheFitExpo™ Chicago, presented by Bodybuilding.com and Optimum Nutrition sponsored by Subway Restaurants, is returning to the Chicago area Saturday and Sunday, June 25 and 26, 2016, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, 5555 N. River Road, Rosemont, Hall G.

Several new attractions have been added this year including:
The Heartland Games - This athletic event provides the opportunity for area CrossFit-style teams and individuals to showcase their skills and test their abilities in strength, stamina, endurance, power and speed for cash prizes. (Register online in advance)
Healthy Living Pavilion - This area will feature a variety of seminars with experts sharing various healthy cooking topics. Live cooking demonstrations will provide information on how to cook healthy, quick and easy meals. Bring your appetite as innovative, healthy food products will be available to sample and purchase.
Fitness Training Zone - Learn from the best as these high profile trainers share invaluable tips, including: Gideon Akande (winner of 2015 Men’s Health Next Top Trainer), Stephanie Mansour (celebrity weight loss coach), Eric the Trainer (Hollywood physique expert), Bret Gornik (yoga for athletes) and Tanji Johnson (10X IFBB Fitness Champion). Celebrated celebrity trainers and cover models Diego Sebastian, Max Philisaire, T.J. Hoban, James Ellis and David Kimmerle will also be on hand. At the Zone, attendees can pose with your favorite fitness athletes for your social media post or personal library!
Battle of the Bar – This competitive sports program has been created by Athletes for Athletes to elevate Calisthenics or street workout movements into a professional series of competitions in order to bring it to the forefront of competitive sports programs.
Extreme Martial Arts Tricking – Chicago’s own Windy City Trickers will host this event, performing their aesthetic blend of kicks, flips, twists and intricate groundwork. And they’ll teach you how to do it, too! See Jon Call also known as “Jujimufu,” a self-taught tricking athlete who created Acrobolix, a combination of tricking, bodybuilding and strength training.
Several fan-favorites competitions set to return include: Gracie Regionals 2016 (Jiu Jitsu Tournament), Odd Haugen Strength Classic (Strong Man Challenge, The Visegrip Viking Grip Challenge presented by Ironmind, North American USA Continental MAS Wrestling Championship), and USPA American Cup Powerlifting Championships.
Will your gym workouts pay off? Attendees can get into the action and compete for cash and prizes in the MAXREP’s 4 CA$H and TheFitExpo’s BEST! competitions.
A power house of fitness greats slated to appear include: fitness guru, martial artist and creator of the TaeBo® Exercise Program, Billy Blanks; 5X and current Mr. Olympia Champion Phil Heath; 4X Mr. Olympia Champion Jay Cutler; 6X World Champion Powerlifter CT Fletcher; former UFC fighter, martial artist, and multiple Hall of Fame inductee, Shonie “Mr. International” Carter; from NBC’s hit show America’s Got Talent The Chicago Boyz Acrobatic Team; Chicago’s own Eric Bassett, a fitness personality and creator of the EB30X workout, an intense 30-minute workout session with no breaks; one of Chicago’s top women’s personal trainers Stephanie Mansour with her unique approach to weight loss, the “Step it up” program, and many more.
Internet sensations not to miss include: Kali Muscle, bodybuilder with 27 million views on YouTube and successful author, actor, philanthropist and motivator; Massy Arias, CPT Health Coach, who has 1.8 million Instagram followers;; T. Come dressed to work out as Evolution Fitness offers free express workouts and fitness challenges daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the Group Exercise Stage. The area’s top pros will offer sessions in POUND, Yoga, R.I.P.P.E.D., EB30X, and Celebrity SweatPlus. Everyone who participates will win a prize. Plus, there are lots of innovative programs and products for participants to try out from Body Boss System, GOFLO Trainer, Mobell Muscle and Kettlebell AMPD. Personal trainers and group fitness instructors can earn up to six Continuing Education Units. (Separate fee to participate).
For the younger attendees at the Expo, The Kid’s Korner, courtesy of The Gracie Regionals, will offer a supervised space for children 12 and under to learn, play and have fun. (Separate fee).
Adult admission tickets are $25 per day or $40 for the full weekend. Tickets for children 12 years and under are $10 per day and children under 6 are admitted free. Show hours are Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, 10:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Discount coupons are available at participating Subway Restaurants, GNC, and participating gyms. Plenty of parking is available.
