John Balik’s lifelong obsession with bodybuilding began in 1956 as a 14 year old boy reading a copy of Iron Man Magazine. Over the next 64 years he was involved in many aspects of bodybuilding from being a competitor in the 1960’s, to a bodybuilding photographer and promoter during the 70’s through the 90’s. His journey all lead him to being the Publisher of Iron Man Magazine for 29 years. His journey continues, and the workout continues to be the center of his lifestyle!! These bodybuilding artifacts encapsulate some of the history of the Golden Age of Bodybuilding (1950-1980). These pioneers provided the foundation for the eventual world wide fitness revolution.
The proceeds raised from the sale of these priceless vintage bodybuilding collectibles will go to the After-School All-Stars, an organization that provides free, comprehensive after-school programs that keep children safe and help them succeed in school and life. The After-School All-Stars offer transformative experiences, and mentoring that support students in developing skills and habits needed to succeed in life, school, and their future careers.

Rose Gracie is a Brazilian-American sports industry entrepreneur, philantropist and member of the legendary Gracie family of Jiu-Jitsu. Rose is on the Advisory Board for the Concussion Legacy Foundation and is an active advocate for the fight againt CTE in her MMA and overall martial arts community.
All items will come with a Certificate of Authenticity issued by Rose Gracie and monies raised will go to the Concussion Legacy Foundation, whose mission is to support athletes, Veterans, and all affected by concussions and CTE; achieve smarter sports and safer athletes through education and innovation; and to End CTE through prevention and research.
